Choplifter 1985 reprogrammed by SEGA.

Originally created by Dan Gorlin in 1982.

Introduction:

Choplifter is fast-paced, 2D, shooter. Where the player takes control of a chopper and shoots enemies down and opens bases to save hostages. The goal of the game is to save 20 hostages in the level.

For the project:

I had 7 weeks to recreate the first level of this Arcade title in Unreal Engine. I used 2 weeks to research  the game and 5 weeks to learn Unreal Engine 5 and try to recreate the mechanics & systems, the art and the feel of the game faithfully.

Known BUGs:

- On restart/start the game, chopper may fly up very slow. To fix: just land again and take off.

- Chopper may fly off the screen. To fix either try to destroy the chopper or restart game.
